Bihar Librarian Recruitment 2025: Total 6,500 Vacancies

The Bihar education department has finalised draft regulations for the launch of Bihar Librarian Recruitment Scheme 2025, under which 6,500 vacancies of librarians in government secondary and higher secondary schools will be filled. The initiative, the first in 14 years, is awaiting approval from the finance and law departments and subsequently from the state cabinet. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will oversee the recruitment process. Selected candidates will get a competitive salary (Rs 31,000 to Rs 32,000 per month) at par with secondary school teachers, in addition to benefits such as dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), New Pension Scheme benefits and retirement age of 60 years.

• Eligibility Test (Bihar STET): Candidates must pass the eligibility test conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board for School Librarian.
• Age Limit: Minimum age: 21 years as on August 1 of the year of recruitment. Maximum age: As per provincial government policy (General Administration Department), with a relaxation of 10 years in the first stage of recruitment after these rules come into force.
